马克是一名作家、制片人、编剧、动画片和直接从大自然或以真人表演摄制影片的配音导演。他创作和改编了大量优秀的电影电视作品。全球著名的娱乐公司和电视台都热播过他的作品,例如华特·迪士尼、哥伦比亚/三星、海外之星、环球、福克斯、卡通频道、米拉·麦克斯、索尼、(手冢治)虫制作、日升动画、皮尔柔特制作、东映动画、东京新音乐、弘恩文化、美国广播公司家庭台等。 

作为首位成功地将日本动漫片引进到西方的开拓者,马克用英文改编了日本动漫片《变形金刚》、《神勇飞鹰侠》和《百兽王》(又译为《战神金刚》)。他还用英文改编了韩国最著名的动画片《猎人MM》,使之成为第一部在西方播放的韩国动画片。马克的近期目标是:与中国的娱乐公司合作,把中国的动画片引入美国,帮助中国公司打开全球市场。

 

马克是第一位在日本为日本原创动漫片当执行编剧和创作总监的美国人。他参与创作的《新铁臂阿童木》系列,从制作、播放到配音,在“日本东京国际动漫展”上都名列榜首。这部52集的连续剧已成为全球收视率极高的动漫片。动画片《铁臂阿童木》在中国也有播放。

 

 

 

马克亲任配音导演并改编了日本动漫片《特别的她》,该剧赢得了2007年美国动漫奖的最佳喜剧和最佳短片奖。

 

马克还改编了香港电影《少林足球》。该片导演、主演周星驰特邀他的英语版本配音导演和配音者马克到香港汇聚。马克改编的另一部香港电影是马楚成导演,梁朝伟、郑伊健和陈慧琳主演的《东京攻略》。

 

 

 

马克改编的其他日本作品包括:动漫片《火影忍者》、《星际牛仔》、《攻壳机动队》、《反叛的鲁路修》、《花田少年史》、《大都会》、《大友的自由》和ABC台的《东京猪》;真人电影《阿瓦隆》、《座头市》、《游牧部落》和《天生拳霸》(又译为《终极战士》)。马克还曾作为华特·迪士尼公司的顾问出品了日本著名漫画家宫崎峻的《天空之战》和《魔女宅急便》。

 

 

马克参与原创编剧的作品还有《忍者神龟》(CBS)、《虚幻勇士》(法国蒙斯科普集团)、《百兽王 3-D》和《小矮人的新世界》(西班牙BRB台、世界野生动物保护基金会,荣获拉丁美洲米甸奖的儿童娱乐奖)。

马克创作的光碟游戏作品有《决战II》、《圣石小子》、《恶魔城》、《星际牛仔》和《七武士》。他还是全球知名玩具公司“孩之宝”和“兰泰”公司的玩具创作者。

 

马克拥有美国南加州大学写作和戏剧双硕士学位。在大学时,他还是美国优等生兄弟会的会员。

 

他在加州大学的富勒顿学院和橘郡海岸学院教过书。他也曾当过“命运剧团”的助理导演,并获得过美国洛杉矶剧本朗诵奖的最佳戏剧导演奖。

马克酷爱旅游,足涉全球各地。他在亚洲和澳大利亚工作和生活过很长时间。北京大学出版社已经出版了他写的两本书:《完美呈现》——一本关于商业表现的著作;《完美写作》——一本关于写作的书。

 

作为教育家、娱乐顾问,马克期待继续与中外合资企业、特别是中国的公司携手全作、共创辉煌。

 

Marc is a writer, producer, story editor, and voice director for animation and live action productions.  He has worked on feature films and TV episodes for Walt Disney, Columbia/Tristar, Warner Brothers, Golden Harvest, Star Overseas, Universal, Fox, Cartoon Network, Miramax, Sony, Tezuka, Sunrise, Pierrot, Toei, Tokyo Pop, Sunwoo, and ABC Family.

 

Marc was a leading figure in the first wave of Japanese animation imported successfully to the west, creating English adaptations for Transformers, Gatchaman, and Voltron. He also adapted Mix Master, one of the first Korean animation shows to air in the West. His current goal is to work with Chinese entertainment companies to help them break into U.S.and global markets.

 

Marc is the first American to serve as executive story editor and creative supervisor on an original series in Japan: he helped to develop the Astro Boy TV series, producing, casting, and voice directing the pilot which won First Place at the Tokyo Animation Fair, and story editing 52 episodes of the international hit series. The animation for Astro Boy was produced in Beijing.

 

Marc was also the voice director and writer for the American production of FLCL (Fooly Cooly) which won Best Comedy and Best Short Series at the American Anime Awards in  2007.

 

As writer and voice director for the International version of Shaolin Soccer ( 少林足球), Marc was honored to come toHong Kongand direct Steven Chow in his English voice performance. He also adapted Tokyo Raiders, ( 东京攻略;  東京攻略 Dōngjīng Gōnglüè) directed by Jingle Ma, starring Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Ekin Cheng and Kelly Chen.

 

Marc’s other animation credits include: Naruto, Cowboy Bebop (film & series); Ghost in the Shell; Code Geass; Steamboy, Metropolis, Otomo’s Freedom, & ABC’s Tokyo Pig; live action credits include: Avalon, Zatoichi, Nomad, and Born to Fight. Marc was also a consultant on the Walt Disney productions of Hiyao Miyazaki’s Laputa & Kiki’s Delivery Service.

 

Marc’s original writing and story editing credits include The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (CBS); Code Lyoko (international hit series byMoonscoop,France); Voltron 3-D (executive story editor, MYProds); and The New World of the Gnomes, (BRB,Spain/ World Wildlife fund. Midia Award for Children’s Entertainment inLatin America).

 

His video game projects include Kessen II, Rave Master, Castelvania, Cowboy Bebop, and Seven Samurai, and he has been a writer for Hasbro and Mattel Toy lines.

 

Marc has a Masters Degree from the Professional Writing Program at USC (UniversityofSouthern California) and a second Master Degree in directing from the USC Department of Theatre where he  was inducted into the Phi Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Societies. He has taught classes at USC,FullertonCollege, andOrangeCoastCollegeand is the former Associate Artistic Director of the F.A.T.E theatre company where he won an L.A. Dramalogue award for best theatre director.

Marc has traveled extensively and spends much of his time living in Asia andAustralia. He has written two books, “Perfect Presentations” a book on business presentations, and “Perfect Writing” which is published inChinaby Beijing University Press.

 

Marc looks forward to continuing his work inChinaas an educator and entertainment consultant. He is especially interested in working on joint ventures and co-productions with Chinese and Western Companies.
